Episode Transcript

Hello, my friends — and welcome back to The Rabbi Who Got Rich on Sundayand the mini series about living a dream lifestyle, called Lifestyle and Why It Matters!

This is Episode # 89, and the 4th of the Lifestyle and Why it Matters mini series — and if you’ve been following along, you know that this series is focused on a month of travel that my wife and I embarked on, and I earned as reward for my business success with purpose. So far, we documented “The Lights of Las Vegas”, the lush green paradise of “Kauai”, and a week of “Friends and Family” in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

Aloha… wait, wrong ocean. Hola from Cancun, my friends — and welcome back to The Rabbi Who Got Rich on Sunday™!

I’m your host, Rabbi Dave, and as you know, we’ve traveled from The Lights of Las Vegas to Hawaii’s waterfalls to New Jersey’s family dinners, and now… we’re wrapping things up by once again visiting paradise — with this experience about enjoying the turquoise shores of Cancun, Mexico.

This episode is all about sunshine, family, gratitude, and yes — a few unexpected surprises.

So grab your favorite tropical drink, kick off your shoes, and let’s dive right in.

Welcome to Success With Purpose in Paradise

We landed in Cancun and headed straight to meet my brother and sister-in-law, Rafi and Yael, and their amazing family.

They had rented a luxurious guest house right on the beach — the kind of place where you open your curtains, and the ocean winks back at you.

From our room, you could see the sun melt into the horizon.

Watch this short video of the view from our room.

That evening, we took a long walk along the beach at sunset — toes in the sand, waves lapping gently, the sky painting itself in orange and pink.

Enjoy this video panorama of our practically private beach.

Dinner that night was by the pool, under the stars, surrounded by laughter, good conversation, and the kind of peace you only find when you’re with family… and you’re not the one doing the dishes.

Speedboats, Submarines… and Surprise Guests

Now, the next day was something straight out of a movie.

We rented a speedboat from the local marina — and I’ll tell you, when you hit the open water with that engine roaring, you feel like you could conquer the world.

Here is a video so hold onto your hat.

The boat took us out to something called the Subsee Explorer — a yellow submarine with a glass bottom.

We climbed down inside and suddenly, we were surrounded by a whole new world.
Colorful coral reefs, tropical fish darting through the water, and the incredible Cancun Underwater Museum, where life-sized statues stand silently beneath the waves — art and nature blending into something truly spiritual.

Here are some video clips of the underwater museum

And then, out of nowhere, two mermaids swam right by our window!

That’s right — real, live mermaids. (Well, maybe not technically real, but it sure felt like it.)

Here is the moment they swam right up and surprised us on video.

It was one of those moments that makes you stop and laugh and say, “You know what? Life’s more fun when you let yourself believe in magic.”

Success With Purpose When Business Meets Paradise

After saying goodbye to the mermaids, it was time for a little work… but the fun kind.

We began our company-sponsored stay at the brand new AVA Resort Cancun — a place that redefines luxury.

We had gourmet kosher meals delivered right from the local Chabad restaurants — think steak, ribs, and perfectly baked chocolate lava… with the Caribbean Sea as your dining room.

First, we reconnected with old friends.  One of the highlights of a business vacation is sharing those amazing moments throughout with friends who happen to be business partners and enjoying helping people reach their goals while growing old together, well, maybe not old, just better!

We attended a company training, and yes, training when the whirlwind disturbances of life and business are thousands of miles away can really sink in and make an impression.  I highly recommend it over stuffy board rooms!

We also enjoyed the local atmosphere and flavor and drank some very fine kosher mojitos.

You know the kind: fresh mint, just the right amount of lime, and a sparkle that makes you think — “this is exactly what success should taste like.”

And here’s where a little business wisdom snuck its way into paradise:

Success isn’t about escaping work — it’s about creating a life where work feels like an extension of your joy.

When your office view is the ocean, and your meetings include laughter and inspiration — that’s when you know you’re living your purpose.

Shabbat in the Sunlight is Real Success With Purpose

In case you do not know, Shabbat is the Jewish day of rest and celebration, observed from sundown on Friday to nightfall on Saturday. On our Cancun dream lifestyle vacation, it arrived with a stillness.

We spent the day on our private balcony, enjoying delicious meals, singing Sabbath songs as the waves hummed along in the distance.

We prayed, reflected, and thanked the Almighty, the true Creator, for His breathtaking world.

In the evening, we took a gentle walk through the resort, watched the sun dip below the horizon, and even caught a magic show by the pool.

And you know what? That felt fitting — because the whole trip had been a bit of a magic show.
Moments of wonder, laughter, and gratitude — all blending into one beautiful story.

Success With Purpose- The end of our Month-Long Dream Lifestyle Excursion

Our last day was pure playtime.

We lounged by the pool, slid down water slides like kids again, and laughed as a massive bucket of water dumped over our heads at the resort water park.

Enjoy these embarrassing clips.

And because I can never resist an adventure, we decided to go kayaking — yes, in the rough wild waters of Cancun.

Life vests on, paddles ready, and laughter echoing as we try to stay afloat.

Just kidding, it was actually in the resort pool waters!

It was the perfect metaphor for life and business:
Sometimes the waters get rough, but if you keep paddling — and laugh along the way — you’ll always make it through.

10 Lifestyle Tips from Cancun for Success With Purpose

  • Work from wonder. Let beauty inspire your business ideas.

  • Schedule sunsets. Don’t miss the best moments by staring at a screen.

  • Add a splash of humor to your day. Even mermaids would agree.

  • Make meetings meaningful. Surround yourself with people who energize you.

  • Bring your values with you. Shabbat in Cancun was a reminder that G-d travels with you.

  • Mix business with pleasure — intentionally. Joy makes you more productive.

  • Savor the small luxuries. A mojito, a view, a song — they’re all gifts.

  • Celebrate progress, not perfection. Even if your kayak tips over, you’re still in paradise.

  • Let go and laugh. You can’t control the waves — but you can ride them.

  • Always make time for gratitude. It’s the real secret to wealth and peace.

What Comes Next

Our Dream Lifestyle Month Tour, memorialized in this Lifestyle and Why it Matters mini series, is coming to an end… but it’s really just the beginning of sharing our Dream Lifestyle.

Thanks to you, my listeners’ popular demand, we will have a few more episodes.

We even got a sneak peek at a future getaway — the Royal Secrets Resort in Punta Cana.

Let’s just say… stay tuned.

And remember – There’s no better reminder that life’s greatest blessings aren’t in the destinations — but in the people who fill your heart along the way.

Summary

From the Lights of Las Vegas to Hawaii’s waterfalls to Cancun’s coral reefs, this four-week journey taught me one powerful truth:
When you build your life around faith, family, and purpose, the rest naturally becomes paradise.

The dream life isn’t something you stumble upon; it’s something you design.
One moment of gratitude, one act of courage, and one step closer to the person you’re meant to become.
